Cleaning out some files and found this magazine from 1957. Apparantly, there is a cure for the Asian flu from the past that might be worth investigating. Proof that history repeats?

Operating rooms can drive big facilities’ cost savings and efficiency improvements through smart, incremental, sustainable practices. Even more important, it’s possible to make these changes while not only maintaining quality patient care but also supporting staff and environmental health.
Though a tiny percentage of a hospital’s total physical footprint, operating rooms have a huge impact on hospital budgets. Operating rooms, on average:
Despite a sound business case, one of the greatest challenges for greening the operating room can be convincing the surgical teams, who rely on empirical data and consistencies in structure and process, to consider changes in their respective practices. Practice Greenhealth member hospitals have learned that data, communication, and collaboration across disciplines is crucial to success, especially in the surgical setting.
Practice Greenhealth offers resources to help members develop proactive frameworks for undertaking Greening the OR strategies. Our goal is to provide step-by-step resources that make it simpler for any hospital to design, implement, and measure the success of efforts that reduce energy use, supply costs, and waste generated in the operating room.
Cleveland Clinic saved more than $4 million in 2017 through Practice Greenhealth’s Greening the OR strategies. Small hospitals can benefit too, saving hundreds of thousands of dollars through similar programs.
The summer months mark the end of our regular trade show series. For several years Pemco and Rultract have participated at the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, Association of PeriOperative Nurses, International Association of Healthcare Materials Management, and the American Association of Thoracic Surgeons yearly conferences. The booth set-up has changed over the years.
2020 was the year most conventions were cancelled, except for STS in New Orleans due to COVID-19 virus outbreak. Pemco is disappointed we were unable to see many of our colleagues and customers face to face. We really enjoy sharing ideas for product development.
Here’s a picture from one of our display booths at a conference in the 1950’s.
When working with metal, there are some interesting things that happen. And we have metal art. Check out this sample of pictures taken May 20, 2020
Today, May 18, 2020 Pemco gets a brand new HURCO 5-Axis Integrated Trunnion Machining Center.
Pemco would like to thank Darrin Crimi, Sales Engineer with Reynolds Machinery, for being with us on installation day.
The new machine was delivered with care to the Pemco shop.
